My passion for listening first developed when, as a young boy, I heard my father’s stories about his adventures as a young man. I was fascinated most of all by his engagement and response to life. I felt his entire being and stance, his moral code being transmitted to me, if I only listened carefully enough.
Today, this fascination for the story behind the story has become a vital part of my professional life. In asking the right question, not only might a truthful response emerge, but, in fact, a life story. When I listen well and deep enough, things start to move.
In interviews on radio and television this is my cause- to bring out a whole story that makes sense to the audience, for the quest at hand — and most of all — to the narrator.
